Imperial Legacies examines the enduring social, political, economic, and cultural impacts of empire on former colonies across the globe, bringing together artists including Brook Andrew, Mia Boe, Daniel Boyd, Brenda Croft, Juan Davila, Nusra Latif Qureshi, Steaphan Paton, Tschabalala Self, Rupert Betheras and Fabian Brown and Wanapati Yunupiŋu. ⁠

Titled after Zan Langdon-Pole’s 2021 work Melt, this exhibition brings together seventeen artists from The Buxton International Collection whose practices explore the pressures shaping our contemporary world. Through themes of value, environmental degradation, colonisation, and decay, their works reveal an unravelling of the very forces that hold society together. Featured artists include Mark Bradford, Daniel Boyd, Marco Fusinato, Mark Hilton, Alicja Kwade, Rosemary Laing, Zac Langdon-Pole, Mark Manders, Amanda Marburg, Muntean and Rosenblum, Jamie North, Patricia Piccinini, Stieg Persson, Jessica Rankin and Gert and Uwe Tobias.

To inaugurate the new space, Buxton International presents highlights from the collection. A selection of works acquired over the past decade. Exhibiting artists: Huma Bhabha, Mia Boe, Daniel Boyd, Mark Bradford, George Condo, Emily Floyd, Marco Fusinato, Diena Georgetti, Antony Gormley, Katharina Grosse, Helen Johnson, Tala Madani, David Noonan, Manuel O’Campo, Mike Parr, Daniel Richter, Ricky Swallow, Heather B. Swann, Renee So and Francis Upritchard.

Anatomy of Form brings together fourteen artists whose work uses the body to discuss ideas of gender, sexuality, beauty and the spaces between. Exhibiting artists: Mia Boe, Polly Borland, Tim Buckovic, Kushana Bush, Cathrin Hoffman, Claire Lambe, Clare Milledge, Patricia Piccinini, Julie Rrap, Julia Trybala, Francis Upritchard, Jenny Watson, Louise Weaver and Erwin Wurm.
